This privacy policy covers the personal data fortunica-casinos.uk.com handles when you read the website or email us, the reasons we handle it and the rights you have. There is not much of it: the technical data that comes with every web request, and any emails you decide to send.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is the editorial team of fortunica-casinos.uk.com (“we”, “us”), which writes the guides collected under Fortunica Casino UK. We publish; the casino is run by someone else. So we hold no player accounts, process no payments and have no view of anything you give the operator.
We handle personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, and anything stored on your device also falls under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). This policy is part of our website terms and conditions. Send questions and requests to [email protected], which is the only way to reach us.
What we do not collect
There is no registration or log-in on the website, and no comment sections, newsletter, analytics tools, advertising tags or payments. We do not profile readers, sell personal data or use it for marketing. No decision about you is made by automated means.
What we collect and why
Personal data can come up in four ways. For each one, the table gives the source, the purpose and the lawful basis under UK GDPR.
| Data | When it arises | Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Server access logs: IP address, user agent, page requested, date and time | Each request that reaches our hosting provider | Security, fixing faults, stopping abuse | Legitimate interests |
| IP address and request details at Cloudflare, plus security cookies such as __cf_bm | Every visit, because Cloudflare sits in front of the website | Delivering pages, filtering bots and attacks | Legitimate interests |
| IP address received by Google | When your browser downloads the website’s fonts from Google Fonts | Showing text in the intended typeface | Legitimate interests |
| Your email address, any name you give and your message | When you email us | Answering you, keeping a record of corrections | Legitimate interests |
Our legitimate interests
Those interests are practical ones: keeping the site online and protected from attacks, displaying pages properly and replying to readers who write in. Each use goes no further than its purpose requires, and you can object at any time, as explained under “Your rights”.
Storage on your device
Our own code saves a single item in your browser, kx_cookie_ok. It is a local storage entry recording how you answered the cookie notice, which spares you the notice on every page. Cloudflare may also set strictly necessary security cookies such as __cf_bm. Storage that is strictly necessary to show you the website you asked for does not need consent under PECR, and neither item serves any other purpose. Names, durations and deletion steps are in our cookie policy.
Who receives your data
Only the services that run the website receive personal data:
- Cloudflare, our content delivery and security network, which every request passes through;
- our hosting provider, which runs the WordPress installation and keeps the server access logs;
- Google, which serves the fonts through Google Fonts and sets no cookies.
Each of them publishes its own privacy policy. Outside these services, we disclose personal data only when the law requires it, for example under a court order. Nothing you send us is passed to the operator of Fortunica Casino.
Links to Fortunica and other websites
Plenty of our pages link to Fortunica’s website and to organisations such as GamCare and GambleAware. Follow one and you are on a third-party site, where that site’s own privacy and cookie policies govern what it collects. Whatever you give the casino when you register, deposit or verify your identity goes straight to the operator. We cannot see, correct or delete that data, so requests about it should go to the operator. Fortunica is not licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, so UK protections such as GAMSTOP do not apply. If you have registered with GAMSTOP, please don’t use this or any other gambling site.
International transfers
Because Cloudflare and Google run global networks, your IP address and request details may be processed outside the UK, the United States included. UK GDPR permits that only through a recognised mechanism, for example UK adequacy regulations for the destination country or contractual protections such as the International Data Transfer Agreement. Each provider’s privacy documentation names the mechanism it relies on.
How long we keep data
- Emails: kept while we answer you and for as long as we need a record of any correction your message led to, never longer than 24 months, and then deleted.
- Server access logs: kept by the hosting provider for a limited period for security purposes, then deleted or overwritten in line with its standard log settings.
- Request data at Cloudflare and Google: kept under each provider’s own retention policy.
- __cf_bm: expires after 30 minutes.
- kx_cookie_ok: remains in your browser until you clear it. It never reaches our server, so only you can delete it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access: receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- rectification: have inaccurate data corrected or incomplete data completed;
- erasure: ask us to delete your data, such as an email you sent;
- restriction: ask us to pause using your data while its accuracy or our reasons for using it are checked;
- objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests; we will stop unless we have compelling grounds, such as dealing with an attack on the website;
- portability: receive data you provided in a machine-readable format where this right applies (it covers processing based on consent or a contract); we will send you copies of your emails either way.
How to use your rights
Put “Privacy request” in the subject line of your email and tell us which right you want to use. If it concerns earlier correspondence, write from the same address. That is usually enough for us to confirm it is you, so please do not send identity documents. We reply free of charge within one month. For a complex request the law allows us up to two further months, and in that case we will explain the reason within the first month.
With no accounts on the website, an IP address in a log is not normally tied to a name. For a request about technical data, give us the IP address you used and the date and approximate time of your visit, and we will check what can be identified.
Complaints to the ICO
If you are unhappy with how we handled your data, please tell us first so we have a chance to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection authority, at ico.org.uk or on its helpline, 0303 123 1113.
Children
The website deals with gambling and is intended for adults aged 18 or over. It is not aimed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you are under 18 and have emailed us, or you are a parent who thinks your child has, tell us and the message will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated whenever the services behind the website change, for instance if a new tool would store something in your browser. Anything that needs your consent would stay switched off until you gave it. Which version applies is shown by the date at the top of the page.
